Effective Link Building Techniques – Part 1

<P>There are four main areas when optimising your site. The first three: site structure, keywords and on page optimisation are all under your control but the fourth – link building is a little different.</P>
<P>In this article we will take a look at what you can do to generate more quality links to your site and also take a look at many of the ‘schemes’ out there looking to deprive you of your hard earned cash for little to no return.</P>
<P><STRONG>Link Building </STRONG></P>
<P>The cornerstone of building more links to your site is to create great content that is useful to your target audience. When you have this content, people will discover it and ultimately link to it from web pages, blog posts, comments, forums and the like.</P>
<P>The following list covers some ideas for content you can add to your site along with ways to stimulate linking to your site from external sources.</P>
<P><STRONG>1. Participate</STRONG></P>
<P>Whatever product or service you provide you can bet that people are talking about it and asking questions. You likely know the answer to these questions so if there are message boards or sites that are relevant to your business area then get involved. You can help people which will drive traffic and other browsers will find these discussions and find your site and link to it.</P>
<P><STRONG>2. Original Research</STRONG></P>
<P>If there is a new product or service in your industry then doing some original research can be a killer technique. If you do a comparison of various services and then detail your findings you can bet that this will generate plenty of links.</P>
<P><STRONG>3. Social Media</STRONG></P>
<P>People are talking about the products and services that you provide on the social networks and you need to be there answering their questions. Twitter is the</P>

<P>Adding lists or top 10′s to your site is a good way to create some content that people will link to. Ideally these should be relevant to your business but if you were selling DVDs you could have Top 10 Awful Sequels, Top 10 Terrible Prequels etc.</P>

Marcus $10.17 Like Quincy Jones, Marcus Miller has the ability to bring together highly individual artists from several areas of music and somehow get them to fit comfortably in his projects. In addition, Miller can uplift what could be a simple funk piece and make it of interest to jazz listeners through his musicianship, creativity, and imagination. On Marcus, he uses different personnel and instrumentations on each selection, playing a bewildering assortment of instruments himself in addition to his distinctive electric bass. Some of the pieces, particularly ones that feature the singing of Lalah Hathaway and the Ivey Sisters, are essentially R&B although usually with a curve thrown in. Some selections have Miller heading what sounds like Miles Davis’ last band (with Michael “Patches” Stewart in Miles’ place), and there are features for his atmospheric bass clarinet playing. David Sanborn fares well during his two appearances, and Tom Scott stops by for a cameo, as does bluesman Keb’ Mo’, and one should not overlook the harmonica playing of Gregoire Maret.
