Boss Metal Core guitar Effects Pedal with a strat?

I am about to get one of these but im not sure if it will sound any good with a Fender Standard strat. Do you need to have humbucker pickups or anything like that for it to have a good metal tone because the last metal effects pedal i got sounded awful (but it was pretty cheap). And i have heard that the metal zone pedal has more mid freq tone control but i cut most of the mids out anyway for playing metal. So, will the metal core give me a good metal tone with the strat or will i need to get an eq pedal or what?

You’ll get a metal tone, but not the same as with a Les Paul or something with EMG’s, etc…
