I’ll explain here a few ways to get Vintage and Rare Fender Guitars for less. There are a few ways you can go about getting quality used guitars online, and that’s where the fun is. Why pay full price?
It seems that while the prices go up on Vintage Fender Guitars, Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters, and Custom Shop guitars, it is getting harder and harder to find vintage brands for less. Take a ’52 Telecaster for example. A mint Tele would run you around $48,000-$50,000!
That’s a ton of cash and some have it, but most do not.
So, what to do?
Number One: DO NOT go to Guitar Center or any other big box chain.
The reason is, is that they have heavily inflated prices and will not really give you a fair shake or treat you like a golden customer, unless you buy a ton of stuff from them.
Number Two: Find vintage fender stratocasters and your favorite telecasters on Ebay. Yes, you can find great guitars on ebay you just need to be wary of two things: The first thing is, if they say they are selling expensive vintage fenders or vintage gibsons, and you want to trust them, click their ebay user name on the top right of your auction page you are looking at. There should be a number next to their name.
I would say 95-100 is preferable. Also, when you click their user name or down below that, there should be an item that says seller’s items. Click that and see what else they are selling. If it’s Popsicles, you have a problem. If it’s fender guitars on Ebay, you are a winner.
Number Three: Look at Craigslist.com and your local classifieds for a used Vintage Guitar or a classic guitar for less. You won’t believe the deals you might find!

An econometric estimate of hedonic price functions: The case of vintage electric guitars. $49.99 This study investigated the quality characteristics that explain the price of vintage electric guitars. Lancaster's (1971) new consumer theory provided the foundation for formulating the estimated hedonic price functions. A ten year sample of descriptive guitar characteristics was developed for Telecaster, Stratocaster, Les Paul, Semi-Hollow body, and Hollow body vintage electric guitars. Principal Component Analysis was performed to reduce the number of guitar characteristics into three composite variables (guitar body attributes; electronic components; intonation, tuning and playability) representing 16 different individual quality characteristics. All but one of the estimated coefficients of the composite variables was found to be statistically significant (p < .05). Secondary analysis examined (1) the effect on the vintage electric guitar price when a vintage electric guitar is reissued, and (2) the effect of the 10- to 14-year old population on the sales volume of new electric guitar sales. Results suggested reissue electric guitar models had a positive influence on vintage electric guitar prices. The 10- to 14-year old population did not explain the volume of new electric guitar sales. |

Fender $26.95 Even though Leo Fender never learned how to play a guitar, he was the first to make the electric solidbody guitar a commercial success. Despite his low-key style and conservative roots, his radical designs for guitars and amplifiers altered popular music forever. Much has been published about the Fender Electric Instrument Co., but Leo always wanted its story to be told just the way it happened . Now, Forrest White, his friend and only general manager, offers a behind-the-scenes look at this company. In his down-to-earth style, White traces the company’s entire history, from Leo’s beginnings as a radio repairman up to the eventual sale of Fender to CBS and beyond. In between are stories about the development of the Telecaster, Precision Bass and Stratocaster, as well as insights into Leo Fender’s unique personality. Fender: The Inside Story is packed with more than 100 historic photos and illustrations; instrument diagrams and specifications; and anecdotes about artists such as Merle Travis, Bob Wills, Speedy West, and Tex Ritter. Here is the book that sets the record straight and dispels the myths about the Fender Electric Instrument Co., a company that forever changed the look, sound, and personality of American music. |

Fender Jazzmaster $46.99 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Fender Jazzmaster is an electric guitar that was first introduced at the 1958 NAMM Show and was designed as a more upmarket instrument than the Fender Stratocaster, which was originally to replace the Telecaster model. As its name indicates, it was initially marketed at jazz guitarists but was more commonly played by surf rock guitarists in the early 1960s and, more recently, by indie rock artists. It is frequently confused with the similar looking albeit tonally different Jaguar. The contoured “offset-waist” body was designed for comfort while playing the guitar in a seated position, as many jazz and blues artists prefer to do. A full 25-1/2″ scale length, lead and rhythm circuit switching with independent volume and tone controls, and a floating tremolo with tremolo lock, were other keys to the Jazzmaster’s character. |
